God Doesn't Make Mistakes

In the early 1960s, The Beatles and their music invaded America. Their music was new and caught on right away and they soon became the most popular band in this country. But their hair was also new and became very trendy. They had long hair and boys and young men went from crew cuts to hair down to their shoulders. It was popular with the younger generation but not so much with the older folks. In 1965, a band by the name of The Barbarians recorded a song titled, Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl. It posed the question because of so many males wearing long hair which was, at that time, seen only on females. It was a mockery but not of the males with long hair but of the older generation’s dislike of the new hair style for males.

That was actually a minor concern considering what we are experiencing today in our culture. About eighty years ago in Nazi Germany, there was a Nazi doctor by the name of Josef Mengele who conducted genetic experiments on children. He killed them and then dissected them for his research for creating a master race. This man was brutal and sick. He would throw children into a fire pit and if they tried to escape, he had them pushed back in. Sick and demented doesn’t even describe this animal. The world thought of these actions toward children as disgusting. He was experimenting on children in order to create a master race which was never accomplished. He was able to eventually escape to Argentina following the war and died in a drowning accident in 1979.

I said all that to say this. Although we don’t have raving mad doctors experimenting on children as Mengele did, we do have people who convince young children the gender they were born with is a mistake or something like that. Maybe it’s a parent who is disappointed with the gender the child was born with. Maybe they simply prefer one gender over the other and convince the young child he/she needs to change their gender. Whatever the reason, this is an acceptable practice in this culture, in this society. It is accepted by individuals and major corporations and if you disagree with them, they leverage themselves against you in one way or another. As a Christian, and I know just that will disgust some people, I firmly believe the gender we were born with is exactly the way God has created us. I also have to ask the question, “What gives any person the right to mess with God’s creation and attempt to change it? As a Bible believing Christian, I submit the following scripture from Genesis.

So God created human beings in his own image.
    In the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them.   Gen 1:27

Now, there is no scripture recorded in the Bible which states if you’re unsatisfied with the way He created you, you can make the changes. And, God doesn’t make mistakes. I also realize the Bible only pertains to Christians in regard to how we live our lives. The person who is not a Christian has no regard for the Bible and therefore does not live their lives according to it. But God is the creator of all things and He likes the way He did it. For Him, it’s just fine, other than the sin thing. But the point is this, eighty years ago what the world considered atrocious, today is encouraged by some of the non-Christian culture. Oh, I know it is not exactly the same brutality and children aren’t being murdered but how many go on to live a confused messed up life because their parents wanted the opposite gender in a child. Or maybe the child was convinced by a demented school teacher they were the wrong gender.

Even the person who grows into their teens or to a young adult who has been told they are the wrong gender and follows through can and probably will experience some personal issues with that change. According to the web site, sexchangeregret.com, up to 20% regret making the change and the suicide rate following up to15 years of change is about 20% in comparison to others who have had the change. And, one important note is it doesn’t really work. You can’t change what God has created. The Human Life International web site has different numbers which actually pertain to transition back to original gender.

The 2015 U.S. Transgender Survey (page 111)—the most recent available because of the pandemic—claims that 11% of female respondents reverted back to their original sex. Transgender men had a reversion rate of 4%. Those who chose to revert cited a variety of reasons. Five percent of those who detransitioned realized that a gender transition was not what they wanted. Other people cited family pressure and difficulty getting a job as reasons to detransition.

When God created the world and all life forms, He was totally satisfied with His work. In Genesis chapter 1, following the six days of creation, scripture states, Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! If it was good enough for God, who are we to change any of it. And again, sin came into the world and did change things and for that reason, we have these demented ideas and activities. In the book of Romans, Paul quotes from Isaiah and says,

 For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bend to me,
    and every tongue will declare allegiance to God.]’”   Rom 14:11

That includes every person who was ever born into this world, not just Christians and followers of Jesus. But God had a plan B; He knew we would never be able to stand in His presence in our sinful state. He provided a means of salvation which would wipe away our sin and grant us entry into His presence. He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to die in our place and that sacrifice provided the required payment for the sin penalty. Only Jesus could be this sacrifice because He was without sin and that was the requirement from God the Father. A perfect, sinless sacrifice was needed to pay the price for our sin. So, every person every born, being born or will be born into this world is born with a sin nature but Jesus has paid the price for that sin and when a person asks Jesus to forgive them and believes He is God and our savior, that sin is forgiven for eternity. Many can’t believe this and consider it some wild fairytale but it is the absolute truth and is recorded in the Bible.

One final note. I’m not some redneck religious zealot who believes anyone who is not like me needs to be exterminated from the face of the earth. Regardless of what a person believes or whatever their lifestyle, they are still a human being and deserve to be treated as one unless they show they don’t. It doesn’t matter if they are transgender or Gay or heterosexual, they all deserve to be treated as a person. My only desire is the same as God’s and that is all people would surrender their lives to Him and be saved. My life really began when I was saved. It was a total mess and, in the toilet, before I was saved. The Christian life is not all peaches and cream and there are troubles and speed bumps but Jesus is there to carry us through. Trust in Him and allow Him to change your life. Sin is responsible for many things in this world. Murder, greed, hatred, human abuse and many other things in life. A mindset which convinces a child or any person they were born with the wrong gender is also a result of sin. Every person is a creation of God and they are born exactly the way God planned.
